Vocational Training & Sheltered Workshop for special needs

(14+ years)

Our vocational training and sheltered workshop program supports young adults with special needs, including autism and intellectual disabilities, to develop practical skills, confidence, and readiness for meaningful work.

Based near Dwarka Expressway, Gurgaon, So-Hum offers structured vocational training for special needs students across Delhi NCR in a safe, supportive, and purpose-driven environment.

Through hands-on training in real life production, students learn at their own pace in a supportive environment. We focus not just on teaching skills, but on building work habits, responsibility, and pride in their accomplishments.

Our Three-Phase Vocational Training Journey

A structured pathway from exploration to independence and earning

1

Pre-Skill & Exposure

6-12 Months

Building routines, attention span, and exploring different vocational areas. Trainees discover their interests and strengths through exposure to independent living, life skills, and pre-vocational activities including packing, soap making, crafts, candle making, paper bags, and cooking.

2

On-the-Job Training

6-12 Months

Hands-on training in our sheltered workshop with real production work. Focus on work readiness, productivity, quality control, and workplace behavior. Trainees develop consistency and professional habits in a supportive environment.

3

Supported Work

Ongoing

Trainees work within our sheltered workshop in structured, supported roles where expectations, quality and productivity grow gradually through mentorship. They earn monthly stipends for their contributions, experience the dignity of purposeful work and build partial financial independence.

Positive Behavior Support

Focus on building desired behaviors through encouragement, clear expectations, visual supports, and celebration of achievements, creating a positive learning environment.

Peer Learning & Modeling

Mixed-ability groups where trainees learn from and support each other, with advanced trainees serving as peer mentors and role models for newcomers.
